Description of Nicolas Maillart Mont Martin 1er Cru

    Estate

Champagne Nicolas Maillart is produced by the eponymous house located in the Montagne de Reims, a region renowned for its premier terroirs in Champagne. This Premier Cru reflects traditional expertise paired with a rigorous grape selection.

    Vineyard

The vineyard is situated in the heart of the Montagne de Reims, where clay-limestone soils and a cool climate favor the optimal ripening of Pinot Meunier. This terroir imparts finesse and elegance while maintaining vibrant fruit expression.

    Wine

This Blanc de Noirs Champagne is made exclusively from Pinot Meunier. Featuring a Brut Nature dosage, it stands out through its purity and freshness, offering an uncompromised tasting experience.

    Vintage

The 2020 vintage, influenced by specific climatic conditions, resulted in a fresh and balanced harvest with rich aromatic potential and lively acidity.

    Vinification & Aging

Careful vinification preserves the delicate aromas of Pinot Meunier. Aging on fine lees for several months ensures complexity and a refined texture on the palate. No sugar is added at dosage (Brut Nature), allowing the wine's freshness to fully express itself.

    Grape Variety

    100% Pinot Meunier

    Serving

Serve between 8 and 10 °C. Decanting is not necessary, but it is advisable to chill the bottle well before serving.

    Food Pairings

This Champagne pairs excellently with simply poached Breton lobster, pan-seared foie gras with mild spices, roasted woodcock with lingonberries, or aged cheeses such as Époisses or 24-month aged Comté.

    Occasions

Perfect for an important business meal, a wedding anniversary, or a festive celebration.

    Aging Potential

Best enjoyed within the next 5 to 8 years to appreciate its freshness and complexity, although it can develop more subtlety up to 10 years with optimal storage.
