Jacquesson Ay Vauzelle Terme 2005
Jacquesson Avize Champ Cain 2013
A Centuries-Old Legacy
Founded in 1798 by Claude and Memmie Jacquesson in Châlons-sur-Marne, Maison Jacquesson stands as one of the oldest independent Champagne houses. Throughout the centuries, it has preserved its independence and craftsmanship, contributing to its global renown. In 1974, the Chiquet family took the helm, infusing new energy while honoring established traditions.
An Exceptional Terroir
Jacquesson's vineyards span approximately 28 hectares, primarily located in the Grand Cru villages of Aÿ, Avize, and Oiry, as well as the Premier Cru villages of Dizy, Hautvillers, and Mareuil-sur-Aÿ. This geographical diversity enables the house to produce champagnes that faithfully reflect the richness and complexity of the Champagne terroirs.
Numbered Cuvées: A Unique Signature
Since the 2000s, Jacquesson has embraced a distinctive approach by offering numbered cuvées, starting with Cuvée 728. Each number corresponds to a specific year, highlighting the unique characteristics of the vintage while maintaining consistent quality. For instance, Cuvée 745 is based on the 2017 harvest, delivering a vibrant and balanced expression of the terroir.
Respectful and Innovative Vinification
Under the guidance of Jean-Hervé and Laurent Chiquet, the house emphasizes environmentally friendly vinification methods. Fermentations primarily occur in large oak casks, promoting natural micro-oxygenation and enhanced aromatic complexity. Additionally, there is a focused effort to reduce dosage, allowing the champagnes to fully express their purity and minerality.
International Acclaim
Owing to its commitment to quality and authenticity, Champagne Jacquesson is recognized and cherished by enthusiasts and critics worldwide. Its cuvées are distinguished by their elegance, depth, and ability to faithfully mirror the terroir from which they originate, thereby solidifying the house's esteemed reputation.
