Estate

Domaine des Lambrays is an iconic estate in the Côte de Nuits known for its expertise in producing great Burgundy wines, particularly Pinot Noir. The estate owns the prestigious Clos des Lambrays vineyard, classified as Grand Cru.

Vineyard

Located in Morey-Saint-Denis, the Clos des Lambrays vineyard benefits from an exceptional terroir in the Côte de Nuits, with limestone and clay soils ideally suited to Pinot Noir. This south-east facing enclosed vineyard enjoys excellent grape ripeness.

Wine

The Clos des Lambrays Grand Cru is an elegant and complex red wine, typical of great Burgundies, reflecting the mineral and floral character of its terroir. This flagship wine has received a perfect score of 100/100 from La Revue du Vin de France, highlighting its exceptional potential and quality.

Vintage

The 2023 vintage was marked by favourable weather conditions allowing optimal ripeness of Pinot Noir, with great aromatic concentration and remarkable finesse. This wine promises finesse and depth for the coming decades.

Vinification & Aging

Vinification is carried out with precision, favouring gentle extraction to preserve fruit freshness and finesse. Aging is done in oak barrels, with a significant portion being new, to support the wine’s maturation while maintaining its natural balance.

Tasting

  • Appearance: Deep ruby red with purple hues, bright and clear.
  • Nose: Complex and intense, combining aromas of ripe red fruits, blackcurrant, violet, with delicate notes of black truffle and fine spices.
  • Palate: Structured and elegant, with fine velvety tannins, a nice mineral freshness, and a long persistent finish featuring flavors of black cherry, forest floor, and subtle vanilla.

Serving

Serve between 16 and 18°C. Decanting for one hour is recommended for this young wine to open up its aromas and soften its tannins.

Food Pairings

This Grand Cru pairs particularly well with roasted woodcock, pan-seared foie gras with morels, herb-crusted rack of lamb, or black truffle from Périgord shaved over creamy risotto.

Occasions

This bottle is ideal for an exceptional dinner, a wedding anniversary, or an important business meal where quality and finesse are sought.

Aging Potential

This wine can be enjoyed now after decanting, but its peak is expected between 2028 and 2040, when it will develop remarkable complexity and depth.
