A historic legacy in the heart of the Côte de Nuits

Located in Morey-Saint-Denis, Domaine des Lambrays is one of Burgundy’s most iconic and historic vineyards. Its origins date back to 1365 when the first vines of Clos des Lambrays were planted. Over the centuries, the estate has passed through the hands of multiple owners, each contributing to its prestige and the refinement of its winemaking expertise. In 2014, the domain was acquired by LVMH, bringing new energy while preserving its deep-rooted traditions.

An exceptional terroir for outstanding wines

The Clos des Lambrays spans 8.66 hectares in a single block, making it one of the largest Grand Crus in Burgundy. Its diverse soils, with marl at the upper slopes and a mix of clay and limestone below, contribute to the wines’ richness and complexity. The southeast exposure ensures optimal grape ripening, endowing the estate’s wines with remarkable depth and elegance.

Sustainable and meticulous viticulture

The Domaine des Lambrays is deeply committed to sustainable viticulture, progressively incorporating organic and biodynamic practices to preserve biodiversity and express the purest reflection of its terroir. Harvesting is done exclusively by hand, with rigorous grape selection ensuring that only the highest-quality fruit is used for winemaking.

Precision winemaking for refined wines

Winemaking at Domaine des Lambrays follows the traditional Burgundian approach, with meticulous attention to detail. Fermentation occurs in open vats with indigenous yeasts, allowing for gentle extraction of aromas and tannins. The wines are then aged in oak barrels for 18 to 24 months, with a carefully calibrated proportion of new oak to maintain a harmonious balance between fruit and structure. This approach results in wines of remarkable finesse, featuring silky textures and impressive length on the palate.

Signature cuvées celebrated worldwide

The Clos des Lambrays Grand Cru is the estate’s flagship wine, renowned for its aromatic complexity and perfect balance between power and elegance. It reveals intricate notes of dark fruits, forest floor, spices, and delicate floral hints. With an exceptional aging potential, it evolves beautifully over time, unveiling layers of depth and sophistication. In addition to this legendary cuvée, the estate also produces prestigious Premier Crus, including Morey-Saint-Denis "Les Loups" and Puligny-Montrachet "Clos du Cailleret," each faithfully expressing the authenticity of its respective terroir.

International acclaim for exceptional wines

Thanks to their unparalleled quality, Domaine des Lambrays’ wines are highly sought after by collectors and wine enthusiasts worldwide. They consistently receive top ratings from renowned critics such as Robert Parker, Wine Spectator, and La Revue du Vin de France. This recognition underscores the estate’s commitment to preserving its heritage while crafting wines that are both timeless and exquisitely refined.
