An unexpected journey into the world of wine

Some stories seem predestined, while others are born from a series of unexpected events. The story of Domaine Bertagna belongs to the latter. When Eva Reh’s grandfather purchased his first Burgundy vineyards in 1954, he never imagined that one day his granddaughter would carry on the legacy. At the time, he was simply a lover of great French wines, captivated by the finesse of Burgundy. But fate had other plans.

From Germany to Vougeot: a return to the roots

Eva Reh’s path to winemaking was far from conventional. Initially set on a career in design, she moved to Dijon to learn French. However, as she immersed herself in Burgundy’s wine culture, her passion for viticulture grew stronger. By 1988, after gaining experience in England and Germany, she returned to Vougeot, determined to transform the family estate by blending tradition with innovation.

A vineyard with prestigious terroirs

Domaine Bertagna spans 17 hectares across 18 exceptional appellations. It holds a rare richness, stretching from the villages of Chambolle-Musigny and Vosne-Romanée to legendary Grand Crus such as Chambertin, Clos Saint-Denis, and Corton-Charlemagne. These lands, shaped by time and preserved by generations of winemakers, give the wines remarkable depth and elegance.

Where tradition and innovation meet

Since taking over the estate, Eva Reh has focused on marrying traditional expertise with modern techniques. Hand-harvesting, precise parcel-based vinification, and meticulous oak barrel aging are all practiced with the goal of enhancing fruit purity and terroir expression. Each vintage is a new challenge, and every cuvée is a delicate balance of power and refinement.

A distinctive style with global recognition

The wines of Domaine Bertagna are now sought after worldwide for their precision and expressiveness. Grand Cru enthusiasts appreciate their signature style: silky reds with red fruit and spice aromas, and mineral-driven whites with delicate floral and citrus notes. Under Eva Reh’s guidance, the estate continues to evolve with the same ambition that has always driven it: to capture the essence of Burgundy’s terroir in every bottle.
