Description of Dhondt-Grellet Extra-Brut Roc Solare

Estate

Champagne Dhondt Grellet is a Premier Cru estate located in the renowned Côte des Blancs region, known for its high-quality vineyards. The house belongs to Grands Vignerons and focuses on producing champagnes that showcase finesse and authenticity.

Vineyard

The vineyard is situated in Côte des Blancs, the heart of Champagne, where the chalky soils impart freshness and minerality to the grapes. This terroir is particularly suited for Chardonnay cultivation, the dominant grape variety in this area.

Wine

This non-vintage champagne is a blanc de blancs, a subtle blend of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, expressing elegance and precision. The extra brut dosage emphasizes aromatic purity and vivacity.

Vintage

Non-vintage (NV), this champagne comes from carefully selected blends maintaining a consistent style and optimal quality, reflecting the Dhondt Grellet house signature.

Vinification and Aging

The wine undergoes traditional vinification in stainless steel vats to preserve freshness, followed by extended aging on fine lees to develop complexity and finesse. The absence of excessive dosage highlights the terroir’s purity.

Blend

Chardonnay, Pinot Noir

Characteristics & Tasting

Tasting

  • Appearance: Pale yellow with golden reflections and fine persistent effervescence.
