What should I choose between this "Cuvée Sylvie" and the estate's Côte de Nuits-Villages?

"Cuvée Sylvie" comes under the regional Bourgogne appellation, while Côte de Nuits-Villages has a more geographically specific appellation. The choice therefore allows you to favor one appellation level over another, without making assumptions about the body or finesse of either wine.

Is this cuvée suitable for a tasting focused on Pinot Noir?

Yes, Pinot Noir is the grape variety listed for this red Bourgogne wine. It can therefore be included in a comparative tasting focused on this variety; however, the information provided does not allow us to attribute a specific aromatic profile to it.

What do the 2024 and 2023 "Cuvée Sylvie" wines have in common?

Both wines bear the same cuvée name from Sylvie Esmonin, making them a good starting point for comparing two vintages. However, without comparative tasting notes, it would be unwise to describe one as fruitier, more structured or more developed than the other.

Should "Cuvée Sylvie" be understood as the name of a particular appellation?

No: the stated appellation is Bourgogne, with regional classification; "Cuvée Sylvie" is the name of the cuvée. So if you are choosing based on the stated origin, look for the Bourgogne designation rather than the cuvée name.

Which wines from the same estate could I use to build a tasting around appellations?

You can pair this cuvée with the Côte de Nuits-Villages, a Gevrey-Chambertin and the Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Clos Saint-Jacques offered by Sylvie Esmonin. This selection lets you compare several appellation levels from the same producer, without presuming in advance that they follow a progression in body.
