A Family Heritage Spanning Nearly Two Centuries

Founded in 1825 by Pierre Faiveley in Nuits-Saint-Georges, Faiveley Estate has grown into one of Burgundy’s most renowned names. Initially established as a wine merchant business, the estate quickly turned to winemaking, gradually building an impressive vineyard portfolio. Today, under the leadership of Erwan Faiveley, representing the seventh generation, the estate continues its pursuit of excellence, blending ancestral expertise with modern innovation to preserve the authenticity of Burgundy’s terroirs.

An Exceptional Vineyard Spanning Burgundy’s Best Terroirs

With over 120 hectares of vineyards, Faiveley Estate is one of Burgundy’s largest family-owned domains. Its holdings extend across the most prestigious terroirs of the Côte de Nuits, Côte de Beaune, and Côte Chalonnaise. The estate boasts legendary appellations such as Chambertin-Clos de Bèze, Corton "Clos des Cortons Faiveley" (a monopole), Musigny, and Echezeaux. This diverse vineyard portfolio allows Faiveley to produce an extensive range of wines, from village-level appellations to the most sought-after Grands Crus.

A Viticulture Balancing Tradition and Modernity

For decades, Faiveley Estate has embraced sustainable viticulture, prioritizing environmentally friendly practices. The vineyards are meticulously maintained, with a focus on organic methods and minimal intervention to allow the terroir to fully express itself. Harvesting is done entirely by hand, ensuring a rigorous selection of the finest grapes. The estate’s philosophy is to create wines that precisely reflect each climate, achieving a perfect balance of power and elegance.

Meticulous Winemaking and Aging

Faiveley’s winemaking process is a careful and detailed endeavor, where each cuvée receives dedicated attention. Fermentation occurs with indigenous yeasts, preserving the uniqueness of each vintage. Aging takes place in French oak barrels, with a precisely calculated percentage of new oak to enhance, rather than overpower, the fruit. The estate also houses one of Burgundy’s most impressive cellars, dating back to the 19th century, where wines mature slowly under optimal conditions before bottling.

International Recognition and a Promising Future

With its commitment to quality and unparalleled craftsmanship, Faiveley Estate is now one of the most respected producers in Burgundy. Its wines, sought after by collectors and connoisseurs worldwide, are featured on some of the finest dining tables. Under Erwan Faiveley’s leadership, the estate continues to expand and refine its approach, ensuring even greater precision and sustainability in viticulture. The future of Faiveley Estate is bright, as it remains firmly rooted in tradition while continuously innovating to elevate each vintage.
