A Family History Since 1950
Founded in 1950 by André Cheveau, Domaine Cheveau is located in the hamlet of Solutré-Pouilly, at the heart of the Pouilly-Fuissé appellation. Today, the third generation, represented by Nicolas and Julien Cheveau, continues the family tradition by cultivating approximately 20 hectares of vines spread across the Mâconnais and Beaujolais regions.
Diverse Terroirs
The estate owns parcels in the communes of Solutré-Pouilly, Davayé, and Saint-Amour, offering a variety of soils ranging from clay-limestone to granitic compositions. This diversity allows for the production of white wines from Chardonnay and red wines from Gamay, each faithfully expressing its origin.
Respectful Viticultural Practices
The vines are cultivated according to sustainable principles, with manual harvesting and a particular focus on biodiversity. The soils have been mechanically worked since 1999 to preserve their vitality, and treatments are limited to the strict necessary, thus promoting sustainable viticulture.
Signature Wines
Among the estate's flagship cuvées:
- Pouilly-Fuissé "Les Vignes du Hameau": from old vines planted in 1950, this wine offers aromatic richness and a beautiful minerality.
- Mâcon-Solutré-Pouilly "Sur le Mont": a vibrant Chardonnay with citrus notes and a mineral finish, aged on lees in stainless steel tanks for eight months.
- Saint-Amour "Les Champs Grillés": a Gamay from old vines, offering ripe red fruit aromas and an elegant structure.
