A family estate in the Montagne de Reims

Based in Verzy, in the heart of the Montagne de Reims, Mouzon-Leroux is a family-run Champagne house rooted in Grand Cru terroir. This village is renowned for its refined pinot noirs. Under the guidance of Sébastien Mouzon, the estate is celebrated for its committed, artisanal, and forward-thinking approach that blends respect for nature with winemaking precision.

Rigorous biodynamic viticulture

The vineyard has been certified biodynamic since 2008. Natural treatments are used, the soils are worked without herbicides, and biodynamic preparations are applied throughout the year. This deep respect for life enhances vine vitality and reveals the unique energy of each plot. A parcel-by-parcel approach enables a detailed expression of Verzy’s complex terroirs.

Character-driven, artisanal Champagnes

Each cuvée is vinified separately, using native yeasts and minimal intervention. Base wines are often aged in barrels, with no fining or filtration. Mouzon-Leroux Champagnes stand out for their vibrant texture, aromatic depth, and mineral tension. They offer a sincere and dynamic vision of Champagne, far from uniformity.

An expressive, terroir-focused range

The house produces a range of cuvées highlighting specific parcels or exposures. Atavique, the flagship blend, expresses the estate’s style through a pinot noir and chardonnay mix. Angélique, Monochrome, and L’Ascendant are terroir-driven, often vintage or non-dosé, with strong character. Dosage is always low or zero to let the wine speak for itself.

An independent house on the rise

Highly regarded by Champagne enthusiasts, Mouzon-Leroux represents a new wave in Champagne: freer, more precise, and deeply connected to the soil. In Verzy, Sébastien Mouzon continues his singular project with humility and focus, earning acclaim for the clarity and honesty of his wines. A grower to watch closely.
