A family heritage since the 17th century

Located in Jambles, a charming hamlet in the heart of the Côte Chalonnaise in Burgundy, Domaine Michel Sarrazin et Fils is a family-run estate with viticultural roots dating back to the 17th century. In 1964, Michel Sarrazin took over the family domain and began bottling his own production. His sons, Guy and Jean-Yves, joined him in 1986 and 1992 respectively, continuing the family tradition with passion and dedication.

An exceptional terroir in the heart of Burgundy

The estate spans 35 hectares of vineyards, primarily located in the Côte Chalonnaise, with some plots in the Maranges appellation, south of the Côte de Beaune. The vineyards, planted with Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Aligoté, benefit from clay-limestone soils and an average altitude of 300 meters, imparting remarkable freshness and minerality to the wines.

Respectful and sustainable viticulture

Committed to sustainable viticulture, the Sarrazin brothers practice integrated farming, limiting the use of chemicals and favoring manual interventions. The estate is certified High Environmental Value (HVE), reflecting their commitment to environmental preservation and biodiversity.

Precise winemaking for authentic wines

In the cellar, grapes are hand-harvested, destemmed, and fermented with indigenous yeasts in open wooden vats. The wines are then aged in French oak barrels, primarily from the François Frères cooperage, with a proportion of new wood tailored to each cuvée. The wines are neither fined nor filtered, preserving their purity and true expression of the terroir.

Signature cuvées reflecting the terroir

Among the estate's flagship wines, the Bourgogne Rouge Vieilles Vignes stands out with its aromas of violet, raspberry, and a hint of licorice, offering a lively palate with flavors of red plum and black cherry. The Givry Blanc "Les Grognots" is an elegant Chardonnay from Givry's highest-altitude vineyard, presenting notes of ripe yellow fruits and pronounced minerality. Lastly, the Bourgogne Aligoté "Charnailles" delights with its freshness and racy character, sourced from old vines planted on south-facing slopes.
