Vézelay "Cuvée Châtelaine" 2022
Vézelay "Les Angelots" 2021
A family heritage rooted in the Vézelien
La Sœur Cadette Estate, located in the heart of the Vézelien in Burgundy, is the result of the Montanet family's passion for viticulture. Founded by Jean and Catherine Montanet, the estate is now managed by their son, Valentin Montanet, who continues the family tradition by producing wines that faithfully reflect the unique terroir of the region.
A commitment to organic viticulture
From its inception, the estate has practiced certified organic farming, respecting the natural balance of the soil and vines. This ecological approach ensures high-quality grapes, free from synthetic chemicals, allowing for the creation of authentic and expressive wines.
Diverse terroirs for distinctive cuvées
The vineyard spans several plots primarily around Vézelay, benefiting from clay-limestone soils ideal for cultivating Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. This geological diversity translates into a range of wines with varied aromatic profiles, each expressing the specific characteristics of its original terroir.
Natural winemaking for vibrant wines
True to its philosophy of minimal intervention, La Sœur Cadette Estate favors spontaneous fermentations with indigenous yeasts and limits the use of sulfur during vinification. Aging is conducted in stainless steel tanks or oak barrels, depending on the desired character of each cuvée, to preserve the purity and authenticity of the fruit.
Flagship cuvées acclaimed by enthusiasts
Among the estate's standout wines, the Bourgogne Vézelay "La Châtelaine" is noted for its freshness and minerality, while the Bourgogne Rouge "Champs Cadet" offers an elegant and fruity expression of Pinot Noir. These cuvées, regularly appreciated by natural wine enthusiasts, showcase the expertise and passion that drive La Sœur Cadette Estate.
