Chambertin 2022
A Family Heritage Since the 19th Century
Located in Gevrey-Chambertin, Domaine Tortochot is a family-owned vineyard with origins dating back to the 19th century. Founded by Paul Tortochot at Place des Marronniers, the estate is now managed by his great-granddaughter, Chantal Tortochot. Passionate and holding a degree in oenology, Chantal represents the fourth generation of winemakers, upholding the family tradition with a modern and environmentally conscious approach.
Prestigious Terroirs in Côte de Nuits
The estate spans approximately 12 hectares, divided into ten plots ranging from regional appellations to renowned Grand Cru vineyards. These include illustrious names such as Clos de Vougeot, Charmes-Chambertin, and Mazis-Chambertin. This diversity of terroirs enables Domaine Tortochot to produce wines that faithfully reflect the richness and complexity of Burgundy's soils.
Organic and Sustainable Viticulture
Committed to environmentally friendly practices, Domaine Tortochot has been certified organic since 2013. The vines are cultivated without chemical products, favoring natural methods to preserve biodiversity and soil health. Harvesting is done manually, ensuring meticulous selection of grapes and optimal quality of the wines produced.
Authentic and Elegant Wines
The estate's philosophy is to produce wines that fully express the unique character of each plot. Grapes are entirely destemmed, and vinification occurs with indigenous yeasts, followed by aging in French oak barrels. Grand Crus benefit from 100% new barrels, Premiers Crus from 50% new barrels, and village wines from 25%. This approach results in elegant, complex wines that truly represent their terroir.
International Recognition
Domaine Tortochot's wines are appreciated by enthusiasts and critics worldwide for their purity, balance, and aging potential. Each bottle reflects the expertise passed down through generations and the estate's unwavering commitment to excellence and authenticity in Burgundy wines.
