A Family Heritage Rooted in History
Pierre Labet Estate traces its origins back to the 15th century when the Labet family settled in Beaune and began cultivating vines. For generations, this family-run estate has upheld traditional winemaking practices while embracing modern and sustainable techniques. Today, François Labet leads the estate with passion, joined by his son Édouard, who brings fresh energy and a forward-looking vision.
An Exceptional Vineyard Across Côte de Beaune and Côte de Nuits
The estate spans approximately 9 hectares across prestigious appellations in both Côte de Beaune and Côte de Nuits. Notable terroirs include Meursault, Beaune Premier Cru "Coucherias," Savigny-lès-Beaune Premier Cru "Les Vergelesses," and Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes. This diverse vineyard portfolio allows the estate to craft elegant and expressive wines that faithfully reflect their origins.
Organic Viticulture and Respect for the Terroir
Since 2021, Pierre Labet Estate has been certified organic, underscoring its commitment to environmentally responsible viticulture. The vineyards are cultivated without herbicides, employing minimal intervention techniques that promote biodiversity and soil vitality. Precise debudding naturally limits yields, ensuring high-quality grapes with concentrated flavors.
Meticulous Winemaking for Distinctive Wines
The estate’s winemaking philosophy emphasizes minimal intervention, allowing each wine to fully express its terroir. Red wines are vinified with a high proportion of whole clusters and undergo no fining or filtration before bottling, while white wines ferment naturally over 6 to 8 months. Aging in oak barrels, with a carefully measured proportion of new wood, enhances complexity and elegance.
A Vision for the Future
Thanks to the dedication of François and Édouard Labet, Pierre Labet Estate continues to evolve, balancing tradition with innovation. By adopting sustainable practices and consistently striving for excellence, the estate has become a benchmark in Burgundy winemaking, captivating collectors and wine enthusiasts worldwide.
