A Family Legacy Rooted in Burgundy

Founded in 1983 by Philippe Naddef, this family-run estate now spans over six hectares across fourteen appellations. Located in the village of Fixin, just south of Gevrey-Chambertin, the estate began when Philippe inherited two hectares of vines from his grandfather, Denis Bizot. Since 2008, his son Michel has joined the venture, bringing fresh perspectives while honoring family traditions.

Diverse Terroirs for Exceptional Wines

Philippe Naddef Estate boasts parcels in prestigious appellations such as Gevrey-Chambertin, Fixin, and Marsannay. The vineyards, spread over approximately fifty plots, benefit from varied soils and ideal exposures, enabling the production of wines that reflect the richness and diversity of the Côte de Nuits terroirs. Notable crus include the Mazis-Chambertin Grand Cru, Premier Crus Les Cazetiers and Les Champeaux, as well as several village-level cuvées.

Environmentally Conscious Viticulture

Committed to environmental preservation, Michel and Philippe Naddef are moving towards sustainable viticulture. While converting to organic or biodynamic farming presents challenges due to the fragmentation of parcels and neighboring practices, the estate adopts eco-friendly methods, minimizing chemical use and promoting manual and mechanical soil work.

Winemaking Practices Merging Tradition and Modernity

Since joining the estate, Michel has introduced changes to the winemaking process, maintaining the traditional spirit of the domaine. The gradual incorporation of whole cluster fermentation adds freshness and complexity to the wines. Aging occurs in oak barrels, with the proportion of new wood varying by appellation: regional cuvées see no new oak, village wines receive about 20%, and Premier and Grand Crus up to 100%.

Wines Celebrated for Elegance and Authenticity

Philippe Naddef Estate's wines are esteemed for their true expression of terroir, elegance, and aging potential. Each cuvée reflects meticulous work both in the vineyard and the cellar, showcasing the Naddef family's dedication to producing authentic wines that honor Burgundian tradition while embracing beneficial innovations.
