A Centuries-Old Family History
Located in Vosne-Romanée, the Michel Noëllat Estate is the result of a long-standing family tradition dating back to the 19th century. Founded by Félix Noëllat, the estate has been passed down through generations—Ernest, Henri, and finally Michel, after whom it is named. Today, the sixth generation, represented by Sophie and Sébastien Noëllat, passionately and dynamically continues the family legacy.
An Extensive and Diverse Vineyard
Spanning 23.5 hectares, the estate encompasses over a hundred plots from Marsannay to Pommard. This mosaic of terroirs allows for the production of 26 distinct appellations, offering a rich and varied range of wines. The vines, averaging between 60 and 70 years old, contribute to the complexity and depth of the estate's cuvées.
Continuous Evolution Towards Excellence
Since its inception, the Michel Noëllat Estate has continually evolved, embracing technological advancements while honoring traditions. In 1980, Michel Noëllat commissioned the construction of a stone vaulted cellar beneath the property, enabling gravity-fed wine aging. In 2009, an ultra-modern winery equipped with forty temperature-controlled stainless steel vats was inaugurated, reflecting the estate's ongoing commitment to improvement.
A Complementary Family Management
Sébastien and Sophie Noëllat form a complementary duo at the helm of the estate. Sébastien, a true man of the land, oversees viticulture. Passionate about his native Burgundy, he is intimately familiar with each plot and ensures adherence to traditional and sustainable farming practices. Sophie, dynamic and enthusiastic, manages the commercial and administrative aspects, promoting the wines and expanding the estate's presence in both domestic and international markets.
Wines Reflecting the Authenticity of Burgundy's Terroirs
The Michel Noëllat Estate is renowned for the quality and diversity of its wines, which elegantly express the unique characteristics of each terroir. Through meticulous viticulture and precise winemaking, the estate's cuvées captivate wine enthusiasts and professionals alike, solidifying its reputation as a cornerstone of the Côte de Nuits.
