A family heritage since 1919
Founded in 1919, Domaine Buisson-Charles is a family-owned estate located in Meursault, Burgundy. For four generations, the family has dedicated itself to viticulture, passing down their expertise and passion for the terroir from father to son. Today, the estate is managed by Patrick Essa, son-in-law of Michel Buisson, who continues the tradition while infusing a modern dynamic.
A vineyard in the heart of prime climates
The estate spans approximately 6.3 hectares, primarily concentrated in Meursault. The vines, some over a century old, are spread across prestigious parcels such as Les Tessons, Les Cras, Goutte d'Or, and Bouches-Chères. This diversity of terroirs allows for the production of wines that express the richness and complexity of Burgundy soils.
Viticultural practices respectful of the terroir
Committed to sustainable viticulture, Domaine Buisson-Charles favors environmentally friendly methods. The vines are cultivated organically, without the use of synthetic chemicals. Harvesting is done manually, ensuring a rigorous selection of grapes for optimal quality.
Winemaking blending tradition and innovation
In the cellar, winemaking is carried out with minimal intervention to allow the terroir to fully express itself. Fermentations occur with indigenous yeasts, and aging takes place in oak barrels, with a limited proportion of new wood to preserve balance and purity of aromas. The wines are neither fined nor filtered before bottling, ensuring an authentic expression of the terroir.
Wines renowned for their finesse and complexity
The wines of Domaine Buisson-Charles are celebrated for their aromatic richness, minerality, and aging potential. The Meursault Vieilles Vignes, from vines over 65 years old, offer notes of ripe fruits, hazelnut, and a beautiful tension on the palate. The Premier Crus, such as Les Charmes and Les Goutte d'Or, stand out for their depth and elegance, faithfully reflecting the identity of their respective terroirs.
