Located in the hamlet of Touches in Mercurey, the Tupinier-Bautista Estate has been rooted in Burgundy's winemaking tradition since 1770. Passed down through generations, the estate is now managed by Manu Bautista, who succeeded his stepfather in 1997. Under his leadership, the estate has combined ancestral know-how with modern innovations to produce exceptional wines.
The estate spans 11 hectares, primarily planted with Pinot Noir, offering a range of wines that reflect the richness of the Côte Chalonnaise terroirs. Notable parcels include:
These terroirs benefit from ideal exposure and soils conducive to viticulture, allowing for the creation of generous and fruity wines.
In 2016, the estate equipped itself with a new, modern winery covering over 400 m², carved into the rock, ensuring a constant temperature throughout the year. This facility allows for optimal aging of wines in oak barrels. Harvesting is done manually, with rigorous sorting to select only the highest quality grapes. Fermentation lasts about 15 days, and the wines are aged in barrels for a year, imparting structure and generosity to the cuvées.
The wines of the Tupinier-Bautista Estate are distinguished by their aromatic richness and balance. The Mercurey Vieilles Vignes offers aromas of black cherries and raspberries, with supple tannins and succulent acidity. The Mercurey Premier Cru "Les Vellées" charms with its elegance and finesse, featuring notes of red fruits and a delightful freshness on the palate. These wines reflect the estate's expertise and the exceptional quality of its terroirs.
The Tupinier-Bautista Estate welcomes wine enthusiasts for visits and tastings, offering a breathtaking view of the Côte Chalonnaise slopes. This immersion allows visitors to discover the estate.
