A Family Heritage Since 1963
Located in Morey-Saint-Denis, Taupenot-Merme Estate was established in 1963 from the union of the Taupenot family of Saint-Romain and the Merme family of Morey-Saint-Denis. Today, Romain and his sister Virginie represent the ninth generation to lead this family estate, upholding an ancestral winemaking tradition while integrating modern practices to enhance each vintage.
A Vineyard Spanning Prestigious Terroirs
The estate covers 13 hectares across 20 prestigious appellations in Côte de Nuits and Côte de Beaune. Notable parcels include Grand Crus such as Charmes-Chambertin, Mazoyères-Chambertin, and a small portion of Clos des Lambrays. This diversity of terroirs enables the estate to offer a range of wines that reflect the richness and complexity of Burgundy's soils.
Organic and Respectful Viticulture
Since 2001, Taupenot-Merme Estate has practiced organic viticulture, eliminating the use of synthetic chemicals to preserve the natural balance of the soils and biodiversity. The vines are carefully tended, and harvesting is done manually to select optimally ripe grapes, ensuring high-quality wines.
