A Pioneering Estate in the Heart of the Alps

Founded in 1998 by Michel Grisard, Estate des Ardoisières was created with the ambition of reviving ancient vineyard terraces on Savoie's steep slopes. Today, under the direction of Brice Omont, this biodynamic vineyard spans around 15 hectares between Fréterive and Cevins. Its mission: to craft high-altitude wines of great purity, reflecting the unique identity of the alpine terroir.

A Mineral-Rich and Steep Terroir

The vineyard is rooted in schist and slate soils, providing exceptional minerality to the wines. The altitude, generous sunshine, and mountain winds allow for slow and gradual ripening, giving the wines remarkable freshness and tension. These ideal conditions enhance the expression of local grape varieties such as Jacquère, Altesse, Mondeuse, and Persan.

A Biodynamic and Respectful Viticulture

Estate des Ardoisières practices certified biodynamic farming, eliminating chemical inputs in favor of natural treatments. The soils are worked manually or with horses, and grapes are hand-harvested to ensure their integrity. In the cellar, the winemaking approach is minimal intervention, with indigenous yeast fermentations and long aging in barrels and tanks.

Iconic and Refined Cuvées

The wines of Estate des Ardoisières are renowned for their elegance and striking minerality. The "Argile" cuvée impresses with its freshness and aromatic precision, while "Schiste" offers deeper complexity, showcasing the terroir’s full potential. In red, "Améthyste" reveals a beautiful structure with notes of dark fruits and spices. Each cuvée embodies the essence of Savoie’s vineyards.
