A Family Legacy Rooted in Tradition

The Cazé-Thibaut estate, located in Châtillon-sur-Marne, embodies ten generations of winemakers dedicated to viticulture. Founded in 1953 by Roger Cazé, the first in the family to market his own champagne, the estate is now led by Fabien Cazé. Having honed his skills under esteemed houses like Chartogne-Taillet, Fabien continues the family tradition by blending ancestral knowledge with modern techniques to produce authentic and elegant champagnes.

An Exceptional Terroir Serving Authenticity

The Cazé-Thibaut vineyard spans 2.66 hectares across six distinct plots on the right bank of the Marne, primarily around the villages of Châtillon-sur-Marne and Vandières. This geographical diversity enables the estate to craft cuvées that faithfully reflect the richness and complexity of the Marne Valley terroirs. The soils are meticulously tended, employing methods like scratching and hoeing to preserve soil structure and promote optimal grape maturation.

Environmentally Conscious Viticulture

Committed to ecological practices, Cazé-Thibaut refrains from using herbicides and pesticides, achieving organic certification in 2018. This environmentally friendly approach aims to support biodiversity and produce grapes of the highest quality. Vineyard tasks such as pruning and leaf thinning are performed manually, demonstrating a deep commitment to sustainable and artisanal viticulture.

Signature Cuvées Showcasing the Terroir

Among the estate's standout creations, the "Naturellement" cuvée is noted for its purity and freshness, crafted exclusively from Pinot Meunier. Parcel-specific cuvées like "Le Chemin des Plants" and "Les Leriens" highlight unique expressions of specific micro-terroirs, offering champagne enthusiasts distinctive tasting experiences. Each bottle reflects Fabien Cazé's expertise and his dedication to his land.

Growing International Recognition

Despite its limited production, Champagne Cazé-Thibaut is gaining acclaim, notably through its membership in the "Terre et Vins" collective, which unites some of the most respected independent winemakers in Champagne. This recognition underscores the quality and authenticity of the estate's champagnes. As more connoisseurs and professionals discover these wines, Cazé-Thibaut continues to establish itself as a name synonymous with tradition, terroir, and environmental stewardship.
