An Australian Passionate About Burgundy
Jane Eyre, originally from Australia, began her career as a hairdresser before transitioning into the world of wine. Her passion led her to Burgundy, where she worked in various wineries, gaining valuable experience that prepared her to launch her own négociant business in 2011. Based in Bligny-lès-Beaune, she has become one of the few independent female winemakers in the region, bringing a unique perspective and personal touch to her wines.
Commitment to Authentic Wines
Jane Eyre's philosophy centers on a minimalist approach to winemaking, aiming to let the terroir fully express itself. She carefully selects vineyard plots in prestigious appellations such as Gevrey-Chambertin, Savigny-lès-Beaune, and Corton. By working closely with local growers, she ensures that the grapes are sustainably cultivated and harvested at optimal ripeness, guaranteeing high-quality wines that faithfully reflect their origin.
Deserved International Recognition
Jane Eyre's hard work and dedication have been rewarded with global recognition. In 2017, she was named "Négociant of the Year" by La Revue du Vin de France, becoming the first Australian and the first woman to receive this honor. Her wines are now featured on the wine lists of renowned restaurants and appreciated by wine enthusiasts for their elegance, finesse, and authentic expression of the Burgundy terroir.
A Diverse Range of Wines
Maison Jane Eyre offers a variety of red wines primarily from the Pinot Noir grape, emblematic of Burgundy. Notable cuvées include Gevrey-Chambertin Premier Cru "Les Corbeaux," Savigny-lès-Beaune Premier Cru "Aux Vergelesses," and Corton Grand Cru. Each wine is crafted with meticulous attention to detail, reflecting the unique character of each plot and providing a distinctive tasting experience.
A Vision Oriented Towards the Future
Building on her success, Jane Eyre continues to explore new opportunities and push the boundaries of traditional winemaking. In addition to her activities in Burgundy, she also produces wines in her native Australia, notably in the Yarra Valley. This duality allows her to bring an international perspective to her work, enriching her approach and offering wine lovers a diverse range of cuvées reflecting different cultural influences and terroirs.
