A Century-Old Family History

Since 1906, Duroché Estate has upheld a family winemaking tradition in Gevrey-Chambertin. Founded by Louis Duroché, the great-great-grandfather, the estate has spanned five generations, each contributing while honoring ancestral values. Today, Pierre Duroché, leading the estate since 2003, continues to showcase the family's expertise by blending tradition with modernity.

A Prestigious Vineyard in the Heart of Burgundy

Duroché Estate encompasses 8.25 hectares exclusively within the Gevrey-Chambertin appellation. This viticultural heritage includes remarkable plots, featuring four Grand Crus: Chambertin Clos de Bèze, Latricières-Chambertin, Charmes-Chambertin, and a small parcel of Griotte-Chambertin. Additionally, esteemed Premier Crus such as Lavaut Saint-Jacques, Estournelles Saint-Jacques, and Champeaux, along with village-designated lieux-dits, offer a rich and diverse range of wines that reflect the unique character of each terroir.

Respectful Viticulture and Precise Winemaking

Committed to environmentally friendly practices, the estate employs natural cultivation methods, limiting treatments to sulfur and copper. Harvesting is done manually, with meticulous grape selection both in the vineyard and the cellar. Winemaking involves minimal intervention: fermentations use indigenous yeasts, and wines mature on fine lees for 15 to 16 months, with a restrained use of new oak barrels (no more than 15%). This philosophy aims to preserve the wines' authenticity and purity, avoiding filtration or fining before bottling.

Wines Reflecting Elegance and Terroir Finesse

Duroché Estate's wines are renowned for their elegance, finesse, and true expression of Gevrey-Chambertin's terroirs. Each cuvée, whether from village appellations, Premier Crus, or Grand Crus, offers a unique sensory experience, marked by silky tannins and characteristic minerality. This unwavering pursuit of quality and authenticity has garnered international acclaim, captivating fine wine enthusiasts worldwide.

Embracing New Horizons

In 2017, Pierre and his wife Marianne expanded their winemaking journey by establishing a négociant business. This venture allows them to vinify grapes from carefully selected vineyards, including those from Marianne's family, thereby adding prestigious appellations like Vosne-Romanée and Échezeaux to their portfolio. This diversification reflects their passion and commitment to sharing exceptional wines while remaining true to the principles and values that have defined Duroché Estate for generations.

A Rising Star in Burgundy

Over the years, Duroché Estate has risen to prominence, earning recognition among Burgundy's finest producers. Pierre Duroché's dedication to precision, purity, and minimal intervention has led to wines that are sought after by collectors and connoisseurs worldwide. With a limited production and a focus on expressing the true essence of Gevrey-Chambertin’s terroirs, the estate continues to gain prestige. Under Pierre's leadership, Duroché Estate is poised for a bright future, where tradition and innovation come together to craft wines of exceptional depth, elegance, and longevity.
