A journey shaped by a life-changing moment

In 1978, Michèle Aubéry and her husband Philippe Laurent settled in the Drôme Provençale with a dream: to craft wines that reflect the raw, living nature of their terroir. After Philippe’s sudden passing in 1999, Michèle took on the challenge alone, breathing new life into the estate. Her son, Maxime-François, later joined her, sharing her commitment to sincere and unfettered viticulture.

Grenache, elevated to its finest expression

At Domaine Gramenon, Grenache reigns supreme. There is no standardization here—each vintage is a unique expression of climate and clay-limestone soils. The estate’s century-old vines produce grapes of remarkable concentration, capturing the full intensity of the terroir. Often seen as a mass-production grape, Grenache is given a refined and nuanced interpretation here, balancing freshness, structure, and aromatic depth.

A farmer’s instinctive approach

Faithful to her intuitive relationship with the land, Michèle eliminated chemical treatments from the start. Today, the estate follows biodynamic principles, prioritizing soil vitality and natural vineyard balance. Horses plow the fields, treatments are plant-based, and harvesting is entirely manual. Each vine is observed, understood, and respected.

Cuvées with strong personalities

Every Domaine Gramenon wine tells a story. "La Sagesse" reveals the depth and serenity of old vines, while "L’Émouvante" charms with silky tannins and a spicy backbone. "Poignée de Raisins," with its explosive fruit, embodies youthful energy and spontaneity. These wines, never filtered and always genuine, evolve freely over time.

A cult estate for lovers of living wines

With its singular signature, Gramenon has become a must-have for natural wine enthusiasts. Its bottles are sought after far beyond France, finding their way onto the finest tables and into the cellars of discerning collectors. Yet, despite its global recognition, the estate remains unwavering in its philosophy: staying true to the land, to nature’s cycles, and to the raw emotion of a free-spirited wine.
