Founded in 2017 on Scotland’s wild west coast, Nc’Nean is an independent distillery created by Annabel Thomas with a bold vision: to prove that whisky can be both delicious and sustainable. Located in the remote Morvern peninsula in the Highlands, the distillery blends seamlessly into its natural surroundings.

A fully organic single malt

Nc’Nean uses only certified organic Scottish barley. Fermentation is slow, with natural yeasts favored, and distillation takes place in small traditional pot stills. The whisky is aged in a mix of red wine, bourbon, and sherry casks, creating elegant, fruity, and expressive profiles without heaviness.

A carbon-neutral distillery

Nc’Nean is the first Scotch whisky distillery to achieve full carbon neutrality, as of 2021. Energy is 100 percent renewable, water is reused, and all bottles are made from 100 percent recycled glass. Every step of production is optimized to minimize environmental impact.
