A Family Heritage and Passion for the Terroir
Since the 1960s, Estate Joblot has been a cornerstone of the Givry appellation in Burgundy. Founded by Charles Joblot, the estate has maintained a family winemaking tradition, now continued by Juliette Joblot, representing the fourth generation. Under her guidance, the estate combines respect for tradition with innovation, highlighting the exceptional terroir of the Côte Chalonnaise.
A Privileged Terroir in the Heart of the Côte Chalonnaise
Estate Joblot's vineyard spans 13.5 hectares, including 9 hectares classified as Premier Cru, situated in a natural amphitheater that shields the vines from prevailing winds. The limestone soils and ideal exposure of parcels, notably "Clos de la Servoisine" and "Clos du Cellier aux Moines," impart remarkable minerality and complexity to the wines, characteristic of Givry's finest crus.
Wines Showcasing the Authenticity of the Grape Variety
Estate Joblot is renowned for its red wines from Pinot Noir and white wines from Chardonnay. The reds are distinguished by their rich aromas, blending ripe red fruits and spices, with an elegant tannic structure. The whites offer refreshing acidity, notes of white-fleshed fruits, and pronounced minerality, faithfully reflecting their terroir.
Winemaking Merging Tradition and Modernity
Juliette Joblot places great emphasis on grape quality, conducting manual harvests with meticulous selection. Fermentations utilize indigenous yeasts, and aging occurs in oak barrels, with a reduced proportion of new wood to preserve the expression of fruit and terroir. This approach yields balanced, authentic wines with remarkable aging potential.
A Commitment to Sustainability and Excellence
Mindful of environmental concerns, the Joblot family practices sustainable viticulture, promoting biodiversity and soil health. This commitment is evident in cultivation practices that respect the ecosystem, contributing to wines that reflect the purity and integrity of their origin. Estate Joblot continues to elevate Givry's reputation, captivating enthusiasts of fine Burgundy wines worldwide.
