A Family Heritage Since 1755

Domaine Alain Jeanniard traces its roots back to 1755, when the Jeanniard family owned land in Morey-Saint-Denis dedicated to mixed farming, including vines and blackcurrants. In 2000, driven by his ancestral passion, Alain Jeanniard decided to carry forward the family legacy. After a career in industry, he fully committed to viticulture, also managing prestigious plots for the Hospices de Beaune until 2007, before focusing exclusively on his own estate.

A Vineyard in the Heart of the Côte de Nuits

Located in Morey-Saint-Denis, the estate spans approximately 4 hectares across renowned appellations such as Chambolle-Musigny, Gevrey-Chambertin, Fixin, and Pommard. This diversity of terroirs allows Domaine Alain Jeanniard to offer a varied range of wines, faithfully reflecting the unique characteristics of each parcel. The vines, mostly over 70 years old, yield exceptionally high-quality grapes, ensuring authentic and expressive wines.

Respectful Viticulture and Meticulous Vinification

Committed to environmentally friendly practices, the estate avoids herbicides and favors regular soil tilling. Alain Jeanniard employs the cordon de Royat pruning method, promoting low yields and thick-skinned grapes, which contribute to concentration and aromatic complexity. Vinifications are carried out with indigenous yeasts, and the wines are minimally or not filtered, preserving their full richness and authenticity.

Wines Reflecting the Soul of Burgundy

The wine range of Domaine Alain Jeanniard stands out for its elegance and depth. Notable cuvées include the Morey-Saint-Denis Vieilles Vignes, from vines planted in 1929, offering a pure and refined expression of Pinot Noir. Other appellations, such as Chambolle-Musigny, Gevrey-Chambertin, and Pommard, captivate with their aromatic complexity and aging potential, showcasing the expertise and passion that drive the estate.

A Family Estate Oriented Towards the Future

Despite challenges, including health issues, Alain Jeanniard continues to manage his estate with determination and optimism, supported by his family. Together, they uphold viticultural traditions while integrating modern and sustainable practices, ensuring the longevity and excellence of Domaine Alain Jeanniard for future generations.
