    Description of Chablis

    Estate

Domaine Philippe Charlopin is a well-established family estate located in Burgundy, recognized for its expertise in crafting elegant and precise Chablis wines. The estate focuses on expressing the pure terroir character of the Chablis region through meticulously made wines.

    Vineyard

The vineyard is situated in the Chablis region in northern Burgundy, where Chardonnay reveals its freshness and minerality. The soils predominantly consist of Kimmeridgian limestone and clay, providing a balanced and refined base for white wines.

    Wine

This 2023 Chablis displays a clear and vibrant expression of Chardonnay on this terroir. Although there are no Robert Parker or RVF scores available for this vintage, the wine is expected to be fresh and mineral, typical of the domaine's Chablis style.

    Vintage

The 2023 vintage in Chablis benefited from favorable weather conditions allowing harmonious ripening. This wine reflects the characteristic freshness of the year, with lively acidity and pure aromatic expression.

    Vinification & Aging

The vinification follows traditional methods respectful of fruit and terroir, without any oak aging to preserve the wine's natural freshness and minerality. Aging is typically done on fine lees to add roundness and complexity without weight.
