A family-run estate for nearly four centuries
Trimbach Estate is one of the oldest and most respected wine producers in Alsace. Founded in 1626 in Ribeauvillé, the estate has remained in the same family for 13 generations. This continuity has helped shape a distinctive house style built on purity, structure, and remarkable aging potential for white wines.
Vineyards rooted in prime Alsace terroirs
The estate farms around fifty hectares mainly around Ribeauvillé, on well-exposed hillsides with clay-limestone and marl-sandstone soils. Some of its top wines come from prestigious single sites and Grand Crus, including the famous Geisberg and the legendary Clos Sainte Hune, a monopole vineyard owned entirely by the Trimbach family.
A dry, taut, and crystalline style
Trimbach is renowned for its dry, structured white wines, with very little residual sugar. Riesling is the estate’s flagship variety, but it also excels with pinot gris, gewurztraminer, and muscat. The wines are known for their mineral precision, balanced acidity, and food-friendly character.
Iconic cuvées with aging potential
The estate’s flagship wines include the Riesling Cuvée Frédéric Émile and the legendary Clos Sainte Hune, considered one of the world’s greatest dry rieslings. These wines age beautifully over decades, gaining depth, aromatic complexity, and intensity over time.
An essential name in Alsace and beyond
Available in over 50 countries, Trimbach wines are featured on top restaurant lists around the world. Their distinctive style, consistency, and aging potential place them among Europe’s most revered white wines. A cornerstone of Alsatian winemaking, blending tradition with precision.
