A Domain Built on Family Legacy

Located in Ville-sur-Arce, in the heart of Côte des Bar, Champagne Thomas de Marne represents a winemaking heritage passed down through generations. Son of renowned vigneronne Valérie Frison, Thomas grew up among the vines, later refining his expertise at Domaine Yoyo in Banyuls-sur-Mer. In 2020, he took over the 6-hectare family estate, renaming it under his own name and continuing a philosophy rooted in authenticity and biodynamic viticulture.

A Commitment to Organic Viticulture

The estate has been certified organic since 2007, ensuring a sustainable and environmentally respectful approach to vineyard management. The vines, mainly Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, thrive on Kimmeridgian marl soils, with a small portion of Portlandian soils, imparting a distinct minerality and complexity to the wines. Avoiding chemical inputs and maintaining biodiversity allows the grapes to reach exceptional quality.

Pure and Unaltered Cuvées

Following his mother’s natural winemaking approach, Thomas de Marne uses oak barrels of 228 liters for fermentation, avoiding malolactic fermentation to preserve the wine’s energy and tension. His champagnes are crafted without dosage, ensuring a pure and precise expression of terroir. His signature cuvée, “Holistique”, is a Brut Nature Blanc de Noirs, blending 70% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay, aged on lees for 10 months before bottling.

Innovative and Artisanal Winemaking

Constantly experimenting, Thomas has introduced 500 and 600-liter barrels to refine his aging techniques and enhance fruit expression. Each cuvée is crafted with patience and care, revealing the true essence of the Champagne terroir.

A Rising Star in the New Generation of Vignerons

With an artisanal approach and a deep respect for terroir, Thomas de Marne is emerging as one of Côte des Bar’s most promising winemakers. Produced in small quantities, his champagnes are already gaining recognition among connoisseurs seeking pure, expressive, and vibrant wines. His dedication to organic viticulture and natural winemaking ensures that each bottle is a true reflection of modern Champagne.
