Description of IGP Côtes Catalanes Rouge "Chat du Marquis"

    Estate

Domaine du Clos des Fées is a well-regarded estate known for producing authentic wines that reflect the terroir of Roussillon. Located in a region with diverse soils, it allows the Mediterranean grape varieties to express themselves richly and complexly. The estate focuses on meticulous vineyard and cellar work.

    Vineyard

Situated in Roussillon, the vineyard benefits from a Mediterranean climate characterized by hot, dry summers and moderate maritime influence. This terroir, mainly composed of clay-limestone soils, is ideal for Tempranillo, the principal grape of this wine, contributing to finesse and depth.

    Wine

This IGP Côtes Catalanes red is made exclusively from Tempranillo, offering a structured yet fruity profile. The dense and generous body displays ripe red fruit aromas complemented by spicy nuances, producing a balanced and expressive wine characteristic of the appellation.

    Vintage

The 2019 vintage enjoyed favorable climatic conditions with optimal sunshine and low rainfall. These factors allowed perfect grape maturity, resulting in wine that balances power and freshness.

    Vinification & Aging

Vinification is carried out with precision, respecting the expression of Tempranillo without excessive aging. Fermentations are controlled to preserve fruit aromas and avoid excessive tannins. Aging is conducted in stainless steel tanks to maintain freshness and aromatic purity.
