A visionary estate in the heart of Patagonia

Bodega Chacra was founded in 2004 by Piero Incisa della Rocchetta, heir to the renowned Italian family behind Sassicaia. Located in Argentina’s Río Negro Valley in Patagonia, the estate cultivates a remote, pristine terroir ideal for fine wine. The project is driven by a commitment to purity and harmony with nature.

Old vines and living soils

The vineyards include parcels planted in 1932, farmed biodynamically from the outset. The alluvial soils, rich in gravel and sand, provide excellent drainage and promote slow, balanced ripening. The dry climate, cool nights, and consistent sunshine ensure freshness and tension in the wines.

Pinot Noir with elegance and verticality

Chacra focuses mainly on Pinot Noir, a rare variety in Argentina. With low-intervention winemaking, the wines reflect their origin: floral aromas, precise structure, silky texture, and mineral depth. Cuvées like Treinta y Dos, Cincuenta y Cinco, and Sin Azufre have become iconic expressions of Patagonia’s new wave.

An artisanal, respectful philosophy

All fermentations are spontaneous, extraction is gentle, and aging takes place in used barrels or concrete vats. No commercial yeasts or additives are used, allowing the natural energy of the grapes to shine. Chacra’s approach is slow, humble, and deeply attuned to the life of the vineyard.

A Patagonian reference on the global stage

Bodega Chacra is now widely regarded as one of Argentina’s finest estates. Exported around the world, it appeals to lovers of pure, expressive, and terroir-driven Pinot Noir. Chacra offers a fresh, precise, high-altitude take on Argentine wine. A must-know name for true wine enthusiasts.
