A Family Heritage and Passion for Biodynamics
Since the 1970s, the Giboulot family has been synonymous with a commitment to nature-respecting viticulture. Inspired by his father Paul, a pioneer in organic farming in Burgundy, Emmanuel Giboulot took over in 1985. He converted the entire estate to biodynamics in 1996, now cultivating nearly 12 hectares of vines spread across prestigious appellations such as Beaune, Rully, and Hautes-Côtes de Nuits.
A Diverse Terroir in the Heart of Burgundy
Estate Emmanuel Giboulot spans a mosaic of plots, each offering unique characteristics. The clay-limestone soils of the Côte de Beaune, the well-exposed slopes of Saint-Romain, and the distinctive terroirs of Rully Premier Cru "La Pucelle" contribute to the diversity and richness of the wines produced. This variety allows the estate to offer cuvées that faithfully reflect the identity of each lieu-dit.
Authentic and Pure Wines
Emmanuel Giboulot's philosophy is based on producing wines that are pure and unadulterated. The white wines, primarily from Chardonnay, are distinguished by their minerality and freshness, with subtle notes of white-fleshed fruits and flowers. The reds, crafted from Pinot Noir and Gamay, offer delicate aromas of red fruits and an elegant tannic structure. Each cuvée is an authentic reflection of its terroir and vintage.
Nature-Respectful Winemaking
In the cellar, Emmanuel favors low-intervention winemaking methods. Fermentations are carried out with indigenous yeasts, and aging occurs mainly in older oak barrels to preserve the expression of the fruit and terroir. This approach allows for balanced wines, where the typicity of each plot is highlighted without embellishment.
A Commitment to Sustainability and Biodiversity
A fervent environmental advocate, Estate Emmanuel Giboulot adopts agricultural practices that promote biodiversity and soil health. The use of organic composts, manual vineyard work, and the absence of synthetic chemicals demonstrate a desire to preserve the vineyard ecosystem. This commitment results in vibrant wines, imbued with the energy and vitality of their terroir.
