A Family Legacy in the Heart of Burgundy
Founded in 1984 by Anne-Sophie Debavelaere, Estate des Rois Mages is nestled in Rully, at the heart of the Côte Chalonnaise. A native of Burgundy, Anne-Sophie was captivated by the region's rolling hills and vineyards, leading her and her husband to settle there. Together, they acquired their first plot in Rully, marking the beginning of a passionate winemaking journey. In 2009, their son Félix joined the estate after traveling the world. As a passionate oenologist and dedicated winemaker, he brings a modern vision while honoring family traditions, contributing to the creation of wines that faithfully reflect the Burgundian terroir.
An Exceptional Terroir: Rully, Bouzeron, and Beaune
The estate spans 11 hectares across the prestigious appellations of Rully, Bouzeron, and Beaune. This geographical diversity offers a wealth of soils and climates, enabling the production of wines with varied and complex profiles. The vines, aged between 25 and 50 years, are meticulously cultivated, emphasizing environmentally friendly practices. The clay-limestone soils of the region impart a distinctive minerality to the wines, while the favorable exposure of the plots ensures optimal ripening of the grapes.
White and Red Wines Reflecting the Terroir
Estate des Rois Mages offers a diverse range of white and red wines, each expressing the typicity of its origin. The white wines, primarily crafted from Chardonnay and Aligoté, are noted for their freshness, elegance, and floral and fruity aromas. Among the flagship cuvées are Rully "Les Cailloux" and Bouzeron, both showcasing the purity and finesse of the terroir. The red wines, derived from Pinot Noir, present notes of red fruits, spices, and a silky tannic structure. The Beaune 1er Cru "Les Sceaux" is a remarkable example, combining complexity and aging potential.
