A vintage to remember
The Burgundy Wine Vintage 2022 stands out as one of the most harmonious in recent memory. Following the challenging 2021 season, 2022 brought generous and high-quality harvests across the region. With generally favorable weather, the wines offer exceptional aromatic clarity and a balanced structure that appeals to both enthusiasts and professionals.
Ideal weather conditions
The 2022 vintage benefited from remarkably kind weather throughout Burgundy. A mild winter, early spring, and a warm but not excessive summer enabled a consistent ripening of grapes. Welcome rains in late August preserved the berries' freshness. This ideal climate yielded healthy, concentrated fruit, resulting in well-balanced and expressive wines, both white and red.
Grape varieties at their best
Chardonnay in 2022 displays superb mineral tension and vibrant aromas of white fruit, citrus, and white flowers. Meanwhile, Pinot Noir showcases ripe red fruit, soft spices, and a refined tannic structure. The vintage beautifully highlights renowned appellations such as Meursault, Chablis, Gevrey-Chambertin, and Pommard.
Diverse and promising styles
The 2022 vintage offers wines that are both enjoyable young and suitable for cellaring. Whites exhibit great energy and a saline finish, while reds impress with roundness and intensity. Grands Crus and Premier Crus show added complexity, worthy of Burgundy’s finest years.
Elegant food pairings
The white wines of the 2022 vintage pair beautifully with fine fish, seafood, or creamy poultry dishes. The reds complement roasted meats, stews, and aged cheeses. This versatile vintage highlights the full gastronomic potential of Burgundy wines, with pairings that are as elegant as they are flavorful.
