    Description Languedoc Rouge "Puech Noble"

    Estate

    Domaine Rostaing, known for its mastery in the Rhône Valley, extends its expertise to the Languedoc with refined and expressive wines. Led by Pierre Rostaing, the estate continues the legacy of René Rostaing while exploring the potential of Mediterranean terroirs.

    Vineyard

    The vineyard lies in the Languedoc, with clay-limestone soils ideal for Mediterranean grape varieties. The warm, dry climate allows optimal ripening, balanced by refreshing maritime breezes that help retain freshness.

    Wine

    This red wine showcases the Languedoc character interpreted through Rostaing's signature finesse. It combines aromatic richness with structural freshness and a good sense of depth. A terroir-driven wine that remains accessible when young.

    Vintage

    The 2016 vintage was stellar in the Languedoc, with ideal weather: hot days and cool nights allowed for perfect ripeness and excellent fruit concentration.

    Vinification & Aging

    Traditional winemaking is used, with spontaneous fermentations and gentle extractions. The wine is aged for 12 to 14 months partly in large foudres and used barrels to refine the structure while preserving fruit purity.

    Tasting

    • Appearance: Deep garnet red with violet highlights.
    • Nose: Ripe black fruits, garrigue herbs, sweet spices and a hint of smokiness.
    • Palate: Smooth entry, mellow tannins, fresh structure and a long finish of fruit and spice.

    Serving

    Serve between 16–18°C, decant for one hour if consumed young.

    Aging

    Drink now or cellar until 2026–2028 for more complexity.
