Description of IGP Ile de Beauté Rouge "DZ Initiale"

Estate

Domaine Zuria is an organic estate located in Corsica, known as the Island of Beauty, emphasizing environmentally respectful winemaking.

Vineyard

The vineyard benefits from the Mediterranean climate of Corsica, which allows the Sciaccarello grape to reach optimal ripeness, providing finesse and freshness.

Wine

This IGP Ile de Beauté red showcases the typical character of Sciaccarello, balancing fruitiness with elegance. It reflects the purity of the island's terroir through organic cultivation.

Vintage

The 2024 vintage demonstrates a fresh profile characteristic of young Corsican wines, offering immediate enjoyment.

Vinification and Aging

The vinification involves careful, gentle maceration to extract aromas and color, while aging is conducted under optimal conditions to preserve freshness and varietal typicity.

Sciaccarello

Characteristics & Tasting

Tasting

  • Appearance: Clear ruby red with purple highlights.
  • Nose: Aromas of fresh red berries, floral nuances, and a delicate spicy touch.
  • Palate: Fresh and supple, with lively acidity, fine tannins, and a slightly peppery finish.

Serving

Serve at 14-16°C. A short 30-minute decanting may benefit young vintages.

Food Pairings

This wine pairs well with grilled sea bream fillet, roasted free-range chicken with thyme, chestnut-stuffed eggplants, or aged Corsican sheep’s cheese.

Occasions

Ideal for a summer family lunch, a spring dinner with friends, or a convivial tasting during a Corsican getaway.

Aging Potential

Drink now to enjoy its freshness, but it can develop further complexity over 5 to 7 years.
