I'm looking for a red wine in which Syrah takes center stage: is "Sierra du Sud" a suitable choice?

Appearance: Deep red with violet hues.
Nose: The bouquet reveals notes of ripe red fruits, black pepper, and a hint of aromatic herbs typical of Syrah.
Palate: The attack is smooth with elegant tannic structure, balanced freshness, and a slightly spicy finish.

Yes, Syrah is the predominant grape in this Gramenon cuvée. It is therefore a suitable choice for exploring this grape variety, without considering the wine a pure Syrah: the full blend is not specified.

Does the name "Sierra du Sud" refer to an appellation other than Côtes-du-Rhône?

No: the wine is presented under the Côtes-du-Rhône appellation, and "Sierra du Sud" is the name of the cuvée. So, if choosing by origin, it should be placed in the Rhône Valley, without inferring a more specific provenance from its name.

What would be the benefit of bringing "Sierra du Sud" 2025 and "La Papesse" 2023 together for a tasting?

It would provide an opportunity to explore two Gramenon cuvées bearing the same Côtes-du-Rhône appellation. The appeal would lie in discovering two wines from the estate, without announcing an aromatic contrast or difference in body in advance: no comparative tasting notes are provided.

How can I present "Sierra du Sud" 2025 at the table without influencing the guests' impressions?

You can simply introduce it as a red Côtes-du-Rhône from Gramenon, vintage 2025, dominated by Syrah. Then let your guests describe their impressions, rather than suggesting aromas or a texture that are not documented.
