    Estate

    Domaine Fabien Jouves is located in Trespoux-Rassiels, in the Lot department, at the heart of the Cahors appellation. Established in 2006, the estate quickly gained recognition for its biodynamic approach and commitment to natural winemaking. Fabien Jouves focuses on parcel-based vinifications to showcase the unique identity of each terroir. He represents a new generation of Cahors winemakers giving a fresh vision to the region. The estate is certified organic and biodynamic (Demeter).

    Vineyard

    The vineyards lie on the Quercy hills, between limestone plateaus and clay-limestone slopes. Vines are manually cultivated respecting ecosystem balance. The climate is oceanic with continental influences, ensuring optimal Malbec ripening. Parcel exposure allows for good aromatic concentration and preserved freshness. Yields are deliberately low to ensure wine quality.

    This 2020 Cahors from Domaine Fabien Jouves is a structured and expressive red wine from southwestern France. It highlights a modern and precise take on Malbec with excellent drinkability. The natural approach provides energy and authenticity. The wine offers depth, typicity, and a fine balance. Suitable for early drinking or cellaring.

    Vintage

    The 2020 vintage in Cahors saw an early spring followed by a hot, dry summer, favoring excellent grape maturity. Harvest conditions were ideal, with healthy and concentrated grapes. The wines from this vintage are balanced, deep, and appealing in youth. Tannins are well integrated, with good freshness. A successful year for Malbec in Cahors.

    Vinification & Aging

    Grapes are hand-harvested with strict sorting. Natural vinification uses native yeasts with no oenological additives. Fermentation occurs in concrete, wooden, or stainless steel tanks depending on the parcel. Aging lasts 6 to 12 months, in vats or barrels depending on wine style. No fining or filtration before bottling.

    Serve between 16–18°C; open 30 minutes prior to tasting. Decanting is recommended to enhance fruit expression.

    Aging

    Enjoy now for its fruitiness or cellar for 5 to 7 years under proper conditions.
