Is this wine suitable for a tasting devoted to Sauvignon Blanc?

Appearance: Pale yellow with green reflections, clear.
Nose: Expressive aromas of lime, green apple, with smoky notes and a mineral touch.
Palate: Fresh and lively, supported by well-integrated acidity, offering a salivating, elegant finish typical of Loire Sauvignon.

Yes, "Silex" 2023 lets you include a Sauvignon Blanc from the Loire Valley in this tasting. The point is to compare it with your other examples of this grape variety, without making assumptions about its aromatic expression.

What would be the benefit of tasting "Silex" 2023 alongside the 2022?

Bringing these two vintages together lets you compare the same cuvée from the same estate across two different years. This is a more focused way to explore vintage variation than comparing different cuvées.

Would this be a fitting gift for someone who already follows Didier Dagueneau?

Yes, especially if you know which vintages they have already tasted: the 2023 can complement their exploration of "Silex." For a fan of the Didier Dagueneau estate, the choice here is based on the cuvée and vintage rather than an undocumented taste profile.

Is there any benefit to tasting this wine blind?

Yes, concealing the label lets you discover the wine without being influenced by the name "Silex" or that of the estate. You can then reveal its identity and compare your impressions with what you expected from a Loire Sauvignon Blanc.

How can I keep a useful reference after opening this bottle?

Make a note of your impressions, linking them specifically to "Silex" 2023 rather than to the estate as a whole. This will give you a personal point of comparison the next time you taste this cuvée.
