Champagne J.M. Labruyère is the story of a family's passion for excellence. Founded in 2012, this estate spans seven hectares in the prestigious village of Verzenay, one of the rare few classified as a Grand Cru in Champagne. Here, the terroir expresses itself through a perfect balance of Pinot Noir (70%) and Chardonnay (30%). Each plot is meticulously tended to preserve the richness and complexity of these unique chalky soils.
In the vaulted cellars dating back to the 18th century, where time seems to stand still, each wine is aged with absolute precision. Under the guidance of Nadine Gublin and Vincent Van Waesberghe, the estate adopts a plot-by-plot approach that allows each cuvée to fully express its terroir. Fermentation in oak barrels, combined with extended aging on fine lees, imparts exceptional depth and complexity. The decision to avoid malolactic fermentation preserves the wines’ freshness and tension, ensuring remarkable longevity.
The house’s first cuvée, Prologue, is a brilliant showcase of its expertise. This Grand Cru Extra Brut, crafted primarily from the 2018 harvest and complemented by reserve wines from previous years, is a blend of 69% Pinot Noir and 31% Chardonnay. Partial barrel aging lends a silky texture and a complex aromatic profile. On the nose, aromas of white fruits, brioche, and anise unfold, leading to a generous palate with a precise, chiseled finish.
Beyond crafting exceptional wines, J.M. Labruyère is dedicated to sustainable viticulture. Every intervention in the vineyard is guided by a deep respect for the soil and biodiversity. Quality is never compromised, and each bottle is the result of rigorous craftsmanship and an unwavering passion for the Champagne terroir.
Thanks to this relentless pursuit of excellence, J.M. Labruyère champagnes are now featured on the menus of top restaurants and sought after by fine wine enthusiasts. The elegance and depth of each cuvée are a testament to a unique savoir-faire, where family heritage meets a forward-looking vision.
